I’m a southern girl so for me brewing tea is as natural as the sun setting in the west. I love tea… black tea, chamomile tea, peach tea, green tea… it doesn’t matter, I love it. However, there’s something different about green tea. By now, I’m sure you have heard about its benefits, especially when it comes to losing weight. But that’s not all it’s good for. Nope, it sure isn’t. There are many advantages of consuming and using green tea.

The Benefits of Green Tea Sugar Scrub
Green tea has plenty of antioxidants in it, which makes it healthful to the user. Besides having the ability to help you lose weight, it also treats headaches, serves as a detox and has ample hygienic profits.
Along with the health advantages, it also is great for the skin. If you want to have skin that’s radiant and feels as great as it looks, then you should try this green tea sugar scrub recipe.
Making your own green tea sugar scrub saves you a lot of moolah. In addition to saving you money, you get to have control of the ingredients when it comes the amount you make and the scrub’s texture.
Let’s Make It Happen
I know what I’m getting when I make it as opposed to “store bought” brands. The manufacturers use additives and preservatives and who know what’s really in it because they don’t list everything. And when they do, who understands those complicated words they use? I don’t, however, I do understand 100% pure ingredients such as coconut oil or green tea and sugar. That’s pretty much what goes into this scrub. Would you like the recipe? You probably already have these things in your home. You will need to have:
- 1 ½ cup of sugar (my favorite is brown sugar)
- 2 teaspoons of green tea powder
- 2 green tea bags
- 1 cup of coconut oil (can substitute with olive oil or grapeseed oil)
Okay, so the first thing you need to do is make a strong cup of green tea. Set it aside to let it cool. I use distilled water however, you can use tap water, but your mix will keep longer if you use distilled. Using natural sugar will make a coarse texture. If you prefer, you can sub it out for granulated sugar. Put your ingredients in a large bowl and mix together.
Pour in tea a little at a time. Using the dry tea only increases the scrub’s effectiveness. Plus it smells fresher and adds texture. The scrub mixture is ready when it looks like grits or wet sand from the beach. To preserve the green tea scrub, don’t use the brewed tea, rather just use the dry tea from the bag.
You Can’t Blame Me!
If you have never tried something like this before, make sure you try it on a small area of your skin first to test your sensitivity to the oils or tea. And if you are going to use it in the shower, be extra careful. I can’t be responsible for a slip and fall accident. No indeed… I don’t have that kind of money. So what I would suggest is to use it while sitting in the tub. Not only is it more relaxing, but while sitting, you can have a glass of wine or a sip of that apple flavored Crown Royal everyone is raving about… it’s good! You can’t sip while standing in the shower, so sit… relax!
Oh, and another incredible part about this scrub is that it will help minimize the appearance of unsightly cellulite.Thank goodness for that. Cellulite and I, are not the best of friends so the less I notice her, better for me. The combination of coconut oil and green tea have terrific benefits. You should try this first and let us know how you feel after using it. I know I feel wonderful and my skin does, too.
Well, ladies that’s it. I hope you like this recipe. Don’t forget to be inspiring to someone who needs you. We ladies gotta stick together. You know who I am… I’m your girl, Mikki D, with another Inspire Beauty tip. See ya’ next time!
