Two types of fungi are affecting the feet. One is the toes fungus and the other is the athlete’s foot, a fungus that affects the skin, usually around the toes. Both can be treated with prescription drugs and OTC, but this can be expensive and may have side effects, but there are several holistic and natural remedies that you can try.

Vinegar
Create a solution of equal parts, vinegar and warm water. It is preferable to use apple cider vinegar, but the common vinegar also works. Soak your toes in the solution for about 20 minutes. Dry them thoroughly when finished. Do this twice a day until the mushrooms disappear. It might work better if you start in the early stages of infection; do not wait until they look really bad. If this fails, try mixing vinegar with a solution of hydrogen peroxide 3%, using equal parts of each to soak your feet in it.
Bleach
Make a strong solution of one teaspoon of bleach to about 4 oz. (113 ml) of water. Soak your toes in this liquid, using the vinegar solution mentioned above. Soak for about 30 seconds, rinse and dry well.
Tea tree oil
The tea tree oil can run both on toes fungi as well on athlete’s foot. You can get it at most health food stores that have a section of vitamins and herbal remedies. For athlete’s foot, it is preferable to dilute with equal parts of water, olive oil or vaseline. Apply to the affected area twice a day for at least four weeks. To use on nail fungus, apply the oil with a cotton ball and cover with a bandage. Do this two or three times a day. Another option is to mix equal parts of lavender oil and apply them with a cotton ball two or three times daily.

Listerine mouthwash
Soak your toes in Listerine for 30 minutes per day. You can achieve faster results if you mix it with vinegar. Soak your toes every day and be patient. You must wait until the nail grows; new growth should be free of fungi.
Essential oil of oregano
Mix a few drops of essential oil of oregano with a teaspoon of olive oil. Apply this solution on the nails every day for three weeks.
Ways to prevent foot fungus
If you are susceptible to athlete’s foot, change your socks often and wash them in hot water with bleach. Do not share socks or towels with others and use antiseptic cleanser. Make sure your feet are completely dry before wearing socks and take them off when they get wet. Walk barefoot as much as possible. If you are treating nail fungus, keep them short and do not use glazes.
